I was one time relaxing home when I turned on my computer to see what is going on back home ( Liberia ) after more than a decade of civil strike and to find out again what the new elected  government is doing towards the reconciliation, disarmament and demobilization of the former combatants, I came across the statement attributed to the Liberian Police Director  Munnah Sieh where accordingly, the Honorable Director attributed the wearing of veil by Muslim women to terrorism, according to the source the law enforcement boss warned the women from the Islamic faith against wearing veil when moving on the streets and other public places in the country ..!! Sheik Kafumba Konneh Honored by the Muslim Community of Philadelphia

Philadelphia Aug. 12--- On July 25, the Muslim community gave Sheik Kafumba Konneh, the chairman of the inter faith committee and commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission his flower while he can smell it. . Sheik Kafumba Konneh was honored for his invaluable contribution to the community and the Liberian society as a whole.  The ceremony took place at the Islamic center in Philadelphia. Amongst the dignitaries Speaking at the occasion were the head Imam of the center Imam Bakari Fofana-, MB Sheriff, who introduced the honoree, Hon. Mohamed Jomandy, the MC and the Imam from the Islaah mosque Ahmad Fofana. Presenting the Plaque was Mr. Abe Kromah. A present and asking question was Mr. Vafley A Dolley. In his acceptance speech, Sheik Kafumba Konneh expressed his appreciation for the honor and advised the community to work for peace and reconciliation.  End.

Muslims around world celebrate the end of Ramadan Thursday. It is a special month of the year, during which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset every day. Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. The others are: belief in one God, prayer (Salaah) - five times a day at its appointed times; alms-giving (Zakaat) - 2% of fixed assets annually; and pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca at least once in a lifetime.
