Darkness is our cover. That’s when we do things we will be too embarrassed to do in the day. In the day, we are exposed by the sun light. So the night with the darkness being what it is, we use it to immerse ourselves in dirt, doing the dirtiest thing we will be too shame to share with anyone except our accomplices. Sometime what we do in the dark (and those things we do in the dark could be cheating, backbiting, murder, etc. ) comes out to light, people that respect us will begin to lost whatever respect they have for us.

 

The picture showing Willie Knuckle engaged in threesome with two lesbians has shown us a part of what goes on in the darkness in our society. Every time a man and his girlfriend or wife enter a room, especially when it’s the night time, we all can guess what goes on behind the closed door. Whatever we think the couple would do behind that closed door is something we are accustom to ourselves. So in this light, Willie Knuckle is like any of us. We all have sexual desire, for not to have that desire means we are less than natural. If it was just Willie Knuckle and a girlfriend, even if he was committing extra marital affair, the reaction wouldn’t have been as strong as it is now. Liberia is a very promiscuous society and many of us would not pass morality test if we were to take one. Since most of us would be guilty, nobody would have bothered prosecuting anyone in the court of public opinion if Knuckle had just one girl in that picture. ..

 

 

But what Willie Knuckle is caught doing (threesome with two lesbians) is something our sense of morality tells us is wrong. We are an heterosexual society and have not approved of homosexuality in any shape or form. That’s because we are African, Moslem, or Christian and it’s against those values for any of us to engage in homosexual affairs. Even though we may not have law on book to make such practice illegal, the Nigerian parliament just passed a law making homosexuality illegal. It is such practice our man in high place is caught doing. How can we allow someone who should represent the true values of our society to engage in something that goes against those very values? That’s why there has been this firestorm of protest from Liberians across the board and Ellen has to cave in even though she would love to protect her friend who was so powerful in her government.

 

 

We may never know how many others are engaging in what Willie Knuckle is caught doing. From what we have seen in the picture, we can say with certainty that there are many of our compatriots that are doing the same thing. Uncle Willie has been around for a long time. He’s been one of the wheelers and dealers of our society. He has his circle of friends among both men and women. And you know what the folks say, show me your friends and I tell you who you are.

 

 

Willie Knuckle can talk from now to judgment day, but he can’t get himself off the hook by blaming his misfortune on Edwin Snow. The fact that he allowed himself to be photographed while engaged in a deviant sex act is what to be blamed. Lesson he should have learnt is that anything you don’t want people to see should not be photographed because I don’t care how you hide that photo, it is bound to fall in the wrong hand. If Mr. Knuckle was aware that his picture was being taken while engaging in this wild sex party, that says two things about him. Either he doesn’t give a damn because he feels that it’s his private life and he can do anything he likes, or he is just plain stupid. We know Mr. Knuckle is not stupid. He just shows us the other side of himself. The side of him we didn’t know exist until now. As far we are concerned, we have counted him among the honorable men and women of our society until now. He should know that there is a clear difference between an honorable man we have known all along and the naughty boy image we are seeing now.

 

 

Even thought our spotlight is at this moment on Willie Knuckle alone, but the picture only show a glance into what may be going on the dark in our country. That makes him the poster child in our new morality war. This picture should serve as a warning to all others engaged in similar act to be very careful otherwise next time it could be any of them.
